What was life like for black people living in Germany in the postwar years?

The history of Germany from 1945–1990 spans the period following World War II during the Division of Germany. The Potsdam Agreement was made between the major winners of World War II (US, UK, and USSR) on 1 August 1945, in which Germany was separated into spheres of influence during the Cold War between the Western Bloc and Eastern Bloc.. Following its defeat in World War II, Germany was ... Expatica is the international community’s online home away from home. Yale economist Henry Wallich describes the following situation in his 1955 book Mainsprings of the German Revival: Each day, and particularly on weekends, vast hordes of people trekked out to the country to barter food from the farmers. Experience LIFE's visual record of the 20th century by exploring the most iconic photographs from one of the most famous private photo collections in the world. After 1945 economic reasons were again at the forefront of the push and pull factors. Many people attempted to emigrate overseas, wanting to leave destroyed Germany behind. The motivation for some was better career opportunities; for others, it was the desire to escape the atmosphere of political restoration in postwar Germany. Germany How Jewish life developed in Germany after the Holocaust. After Nazis murdered 6 million Jews in the Holocaust, the future of Germany's remaining Jewish community was in doubt. He married Anna, whom he’d first met in a ghetto in Nazi-occupied Poland, and they sailed to Boston in 1949 ... In 1997, there are an estimated sixty-seven thousand people of Jewish faith or heritage living in Germany. The largest Jewish congregations are in Frankfurt am Main and Berlin. In the postwar era, migratory workers or immigrants from North Africa and western Asia established Islamic communities upon arriving in Germany. While black people in Nazi Germany were never subject to an organized mass extermination program, as in the cases of Jews, homosexuals, Romani, and Slavs, they were still considered by the Nazis to be an inferior race and along with Romani people were subject to the Nuremberg Laws under a supplementary decree.

Some time ago I saw a video about black people in Germany before ww2 and I was wondering what happened to them and what was life like for them in the postwar years onward?

I need help finding a modern sweater approximating a 80s Geoffrey Beene Acrylic turtleneck
Okay so short story short, I found this sweater in my father's closet while rooting around for a Christmas sweater, and I am absolutely in love with it. My girlfriend says I look super cute in the sweater and it's honestly the most comfortable article of clothing I own. Unfortunately, it's from the 80s and no longer in production, so I can't go and buy more of them. Where can I find something that's essentially this in style and feel in modernity?
Niche details if they help. It's a mock crew neck. The pattern itself is ribbed, but I'm fine with other patterns. The fabric is specifically no ich acrylic. I'm not familiar enough with acrylic to know if that's a special type or just normal acrylic. It's so soft and warm, and I love it so much.

2021.12.05 22:49 bgiesing Just got my first Kobo, can't connect to the server at all to set it up

I've previously visited kobo.com and used the mobile app many times in the past month before buying a Kobo Sage this week just fine. The day I got the Sage, the website and app suddenly won't load no matter what I try on my home network so I can't even setup this device I just bought.
The website and app load just fine when using cell data but my phone provider doesn't allow hotspotting so I can't even use that to set it up. I've already tried waiting a couple days, resetting my home Wifi router and modem, clearing DNS cache, switching DNS providers (ISP, Google, CloudFlare, etc), and nothing seems to work. Every other website loads perfectly fine (even including kobobooks.com and help.kobo.com) but kobo.com itself refuses to connect no matter what so I can't do anything on device or on my PC to set this device up.
I'm at a loss at what to do cause everything has worked fine up to now and nothing has changed on my home network between the last time I visited the website and buying the Sage.

2021.12.05 22:49 hammalamamba LPT: Take a second to be deliberately kinder to yourself every now and then

Any time you're feeling down or feeling anxious (happens to me all the time, diagnosed anxiety here) have a little conversation with yourself. Ask yourself why you're feeling this way, and try to work through why it's going to be okay. Tell yourself about the little things - about how you've finished work before so you can do it again, about how you have friends who love you which means there clearly must be at least a couple reasons to allow you to love yourself, about how everything will turn out okay as long as you work at it, about how a break is important now and then as long as you're being productive.
And even if you're not feeling down, take a moment every now and then to hype yourself up a little. I'm not saying become arrogant, but a little self-love and assurance goes a long way. Whatever's going on, you can do it, you can make it through!
It's not going to be the conclusive solution to every problem, but it's definitely going to help you take steps in the right direction.
And don't do anything else during this. Just take a deep breath in, exhale, lean back, and spend a little while being nice to yourself. It can be five minutes, it can be one minute, it can be way longer, it can be however long you need, but do it. You're helping yourself. And hey, most importantly, you deserve to be nicer to yourself, so I'd recommend starting doing so right away.
